Commissioned Platinum Wedding Anniversary Card

Card Design

This was a card that was commissioned for a 70th Wedding Anniversary, which happens to be Platinum in the traditional Anniversary Calendar.

It was inspired by Christina Griffiths, from Card Making Magic.  She used the new Sue Wilson Saville dies to form the card base and the layers.  I printed the sentiments from my computer and used various flowers from Wild Orchid crafts to finish it off.  I had to make a box to complete the project, as this is a real keepsake.  I used Centura Pearl - Silver for both the box and the card, and though I say so myself, I think it is beautiful.

Thank you Christina, you are very talented.

Scruffy Little Cat - Ashleigh

www.crafterscompanion.co.uk This is Ashleigh from the Scruffy Little Cat collection by Crafters Companion.  I think these images are fabulous!  I love the eyes.  They are so easy to colour, and add whatever bling you like.
I have coloured her with Promarkers and added the additional definition and shade with Polychromo pencils using a blending solution and paper stumps.  The dies I have used are from Spellbinders.  Not only are the images fantastic, but the sentiments are as well.  Perfect together!!

Soft Chalk Embossed Card

Hi all, a very Happy New Year to everyone! It's been some time since I last posted, apologies for that!  I had 2 demonstrations in January and so I am adding my favourite makes, bare with me it may take a while.

This is one of two samples I did using the lovely A5 Poppy embossing folder from DoCrafts.  I simply embossed a white card and added lilac and green chalks to the embossed elements.  A coloured a white organza ribbon to match the purple mat and then stamped a sentiment in Versamark and added the same chalk to the sentiment.  Quite simple really, but very effective.  It reminds me of the soft look you get with watercolour painting.

Pink is Perfect

Gift bag
www.docrafts.com  Hi there, I thought that I would share these two demo makes from this weekend.  They are both from the DoCrafts  Papermania Rose Capsule Collection. Beautiful papers with pink hues.  I made a gift bag and matching card below.  I used craft card in both which really compliments the pink.
Matching card
Both have got a gold embossed sentiment   which was cut in a circle and matted onto a craft scalope circle.
All the dies used in these samples are from DoCrafts, Xcut.

Pink Chalked Poppies

www.docrafts.com Here is the 2nd of my demo makes using the embossing folder and soft chalks.  This one I used pink chalk and added glitter to finish the soft look.  I mounted it on to a darker card to draw the eye into the poppies.  This was a popular make at both my demos in January.  The embossing folder can be purchased from DoCrafts retailer.

Mini Thank You cards and Gift Box

Mini Thank You cards and Gift Box

This is a perfect little gift for a friends or family.  I used the new Papermania Capsule collection mini cards and envelopes in French Lavender.  The sentiment is from Stamp rite, which I heat embossed.  The label tag is also from DoCrafts.  This is the insert to a larger tag, really useful shape and perfect for these cards.  The box is made from a single piece of card.  If you would like the measurements for this particular make, just leave me a comment?  You can of course make any size, it just depends on the size of the cards you want to place in the box?

Beehive in French Lavender

Hexagon Easel card with Beehive embelishments
I made this card after being inspired from Diane Clews on the DoCrafts gallery.  I changed the topper slightly by using the honeycomb die to form the topper and replaced the flowers with the beehive.  All the papers are from the Lavender capsule collection from Papermania, so pretty and fresh.  The stamped sentiment is from StampRite.

Gorjuss - Isn't She Just!

The Gorjuss Hatter

The Gorjuss Hatter
I love Gorjuss Girls!  This is one of the latest from DoCrafts - The Hatter.  I have coloured her in with Promarkers and added Polychromo pencils to add definition.  The papers and ribbon are both from the coordinating range from Docrafts.  The die is from Spellbinders, long deckle rectangles.  I kept the die in the card and used Weathered Wood distress inks through the die to add a soft edge to the image.

Flowers in a Box

Card in a Box
This card was great fun to make.  I used the small Robert Adams Template and trellis die for the base card. There is a great tutorial on his website, so you can view before you buy?   Just 2 sheets of A4 plain white cardstock is all you need.  I then cut various flower shapes and sizes using my Cricut machine.  I cut 2 Memory Box butterflies die from cardstock and parchment paper and then used the die as a template to cut the base in parchment.  I layered the butterflies on top and added a quickie glue pen to the bottom layer through the wings then sprinkled glitter on top.  I cut 6 swirl leaves using a Tonic die.  Once all cut out it just needed putting together.  I love it!!

Nature's Gallery Gardener's Gift

Pocket full of posies
www.docrafts.com I have had these packets of flower seeds for ages as I had a idea to make a wallet to give as a gift for a gardener.  When I received my demo pack and saw these gorgeous papers, I knew this was what I wanted to make.

I have used kraft cardstock to make the base because it is so strong.  I cut a piece of 12"x12" down to about 6" x 12" and scored it so that the right side tucked into the left with a seam allowance of 1/8" on each fold.

Inside Wallet

Inside I made a couple of pockets to hold the packets of seed and then covered the whole wallet with matching papers and included two cute little envelopes to add to the inside covers.  Ribbon was then added to the front and the very back to allow the wallet to be closed and secured.
This would make a nice Father's Day gift.

Vintage Bird Cage - Nature's Gallery

Vintage Bird Cage - Nature's Gallery
www.docrafts.com The lovely Nature's Gallery papers and images are of birds, butterflies, flowers and foliage.  I couldn't therefore, not make a card using this stylish large Xcut die of a Bird cage.  I simply cut this out of gold mirri card and sanded it back slightly, mounted it onto foam dots before placing it over the decoupage image.  The papers are from the same collection.  This is one of  the 12"x12" papers, which I adore the colours and quality. I used a couple of tags from the paper pack and secured them to the top of the bird cage with a hot glue gun.

White Embossed Parchment - Nature's Gallery Stamps

White embossed Parchment - Purple
These two simple cards were so easy to make.  I stamped the lovely flower stem and small script tag from the large stamp set from Do Crafts (Nature's Gallery) with a clear embossing ink.  I then heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I then cut out the images with both scissors and a craft knife.  A bit fiddly, but well worth it.
On the reverse, I then coloured the image with permanent markers before mounting on to the card.
With the purple one, I inked through an oval shape before stamping my sentiment. Which really shows up the small scripted tag.

White embossed Parchment - Blue
With the blue one, I used a fancy edge blade around the white card.

I think they both turned out well and customers in store really liked them.

Best in Blue

Best in Blue
Hi everyone, so sorry to not  post for so long, time is always the issue for me!
I have been busy demonstrating and therefore, I have been busy making samples. I will share some of my favourites, and those that got a "WOW" factor during my demos in March.!

This one I made twice, the other one I made for Mother's Day and left in the store.  Everyone loved it, especially the colour choice.  This is a square 6"x6" card and I chose two shades of blue for matting and layering and then, from the waste, I punched two different size flowers and layered then on the beige card that had been run through the embossing folder.  I then sanded back the impression, to reveal the white core slightly, and then in each corner I stamped a swirl with versamark ink and them lightly dabbed a blue shimmer chalk over the top.  The sentiment is a gorgeous Just-rite stamp, stamped with Black versafine and clear heat embossed.  I have to admit, I am a bit of an obsession with Just-rite stamps at the moment, especially this beautiful font!  I finished it off with a DoCrafts Glitterations peel-off butterfly in white, which I placed onto parchment and cut around and a few blue gems placed in the tiny dots around the embossed circle.www.docrafts.com
