Flowers in a Box

Card in a Box
This card was great fun to make.  I used the small Robert Adams Template and trellis die for the base card. There is a great tutorial on his website, so you can view before you buy?   Just 2 sheets of A4 plain white cardstock is all you need.  I then cut various flower shapes and sizes using my Cricut machine.  I cut 2 Memory Box butterflies die from cardstock and parchment paper and then used the die as a template to cut the base in parchment.  I layered the butterflies on top and added a quickie glue pen to the bottom layer through the wings then sprinkled glitter on top.  I cut 6 swirl leaves using a Tonic die.  Once all cut out it just needed putting together.  I love it!!

Nature's Gallery Gardener's Gift

Pocket full of posies
www.docrafts.com I have had these packets of flower seeds for ages as I had a idea to make a wallet to give as a gift for a gardener.  When I received my demo pack and saw these gorgeous papers, I knew this was what I wanted to make.

I have used kraft cardstock to make the base because it is so strong.  I cut a piece of 12"x12" down to about 6" x 12" and scored it so that the right side tucked into the left with a seam allowance of 1/8" on each fold.

Inside Wallet

Inside I made a couple of pockets to hold the packets of seed and then covered the whole wallet with matching papers and included two cute little envelopes to add to the inside covers.  Ribbon was then added to the front and the very back to allow the wallet to be closed and secured.
This would make a nice Father's Day gift.

Vintage Bird Cage - Nature's Gallery

Vintage Bird Cage - Nature's Gallery
www.docrafts.com The lovely Nature's Gallery papers and images are of birds, butterflies, flowers and foliage.  I couldn't therefore, not make a card using this stylish large Xcut die of a Bird cage.  I simply cut this out of gold mirri card and sanded it back slightly, mounted it onto foam dots before placing it over the decoupage image.  The papers are from the same collection.  This is one of  the 12"x12" papers, which I adore the colours and quality. I used a couple of tags from the paper pack and secured them to the top of the bird cage with a hot glue gun.

White Embossed Parchment - Nature's Gallery Stamps

White embossed Parchment - Purple
These two simple cards were so easy to make.  I stamped the lovely flower stem and small script tag from the large stamp set from Do Crafts (Nature's Gallery) with a clear embossing ink.  I then heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I then cut out the images with both scissors and a craft knife.  A bit fiddly, but well worth it.
On the reverse, I then coloured the image with permanent markers before mounting on to the card.
With the purple one, I inked through an oval shape before stamping my sentiment. Which really shows up the small scripted tag.

White embossed Parchment - Blue
With the blue one, I used a fancy edge blade around the white card.

I think they both turned out well and customers in store really liked them.

Best in Blue

Best in Blue
Hi everyone, so sorry to not  post for so long, time is always the issue for me!
I have been busy demonstrating and therefore, I have been busy making samples. I will share some of my favourites, and those that got a "WOW" factor during my demos in March.!

This one I made twice, the other one I made for Mother's Day and left in the store.  Everyone loved it, especially the colour choice.  This is a square 6"x6" card and I chose two shades of blue for matting and layering and then, from the waste, I punched two different size flowers and layered then on the beige card that had been run through the embossing folder.  I then sanded back the impression, to reveal the white core slightly, and then in each corner I stamped a swirl with versamark ink and them lightly dabbed a blue shimmer chalk over the top.  The sentiment is a gorgeous Just-rite stamp, stamped with Black versafine and clear heat embossed.  I have to admit, I am a bit of an obsession with Just-rite stamps at the moment, especially this beautiful font!  I finished it off with a DoCrafts Glitterations peel-off butterfly in white, which I placed onto parchment and cut around and a few blue gems placed in the tiny dots around the embossed circle.www.docrafts.com
