Hi everyone, I have been asked to post the instructions for these gorgeous Tea Light Boxes. I found the instructions on YouTube, Pootles Papercraft. They are really easy to achieve, providing you get your measurements spot on!
I used Morrisons scented Tea Lights, and they fit perfectly to the measurements below, either 12 or 8 per box. If you use other makes, you may find you have to adjust these sizes?
All the boxes were made from A4 paper which is a bonus. I used 220gsm white cardstock, then I stamped an Indigo Blu flourish stamp with a momento ink pad in Teal.
12 Tea Light Box Measurements
1 Sheet of A4 cardstock cut to 10 1/2 inches by 7 1/4 inches (sorry I haven't got the measurements in centimeteres).
On 10 1/2 inch side, score at 1/2, 3 5/8, 5 1/2 and 8 5/8. Turn the cardstock and score on the 7 1/4 inch side at, 1 7/8, 5 and 6 7/8.
Dotted lines are scored lines, solid lines are cut lines. Hatched area's you need to cut away and discard.
Once you have you box cut out, I used a small Die to cut out the window shape for the top of the box. Just place this on the scored lines central to the sides of the box and cut out.
If you burnish all the score lines with a bone folder, it makes it easy to assemble. I like to place an opening tab on one of the ends, which means the recipient doesn't need to destroy the box to get into the Tea Lights, they can open the tabbed end to get to the gift. To do this, I ensure that the tab that joins the box together, is kept to the front of the box. If you fold all the sides in, as if you are putting it together, it makes it easier to locate with tab needs a small slit placed in so that you little closure tab fits within it. If you can make this out on the drawing, I have indicated this as "slit in card".
You are now ready to assemble the box together. Start with the tab on the 7 1/4 inch side. Place strong adhesive to the right side of the tab and fix this to the other side of the box by bringing it round to meet whilst the sides are flat. This enables you to get the sides matched up without too many issues. With the two windows on the top of the box facing upwards, secure the end of the box without the closure tab, make sure the top flap is on top, which will then match the closure tab side. Push both the side flaps in first, then the bottom flap followed by the top flap. Put your strong adhesive on the inside of the top flap.
Next, repeat the process on the opposite side, but this time, no adhesive is required. You just need to push the tab through the slit you have made in the bottom flap. This should fit snug, but allow you to open the box when pulled open.
I finished my box off with a gorgeous satin double sided ribbon, but you have decorate as you wish.
8 Tea Light Box Measurements
1 sheet of A4 cardstock cut to 9 1/4 inch by 6 inch.
On the 9 1/4 inch side, score at 1/2, 3 5/8, 4 7/8 and 8 inches. Turn and score the 6 inch side at 1 1/4, 4 3/8 and 5 5/8 inches.
The rest is exactly the same as the 12 Tea Light Box.
I have tried to edit the page to change the layout, but without success. Every time I come to use my blog it appears different, so I apologise if the layout is hard to read. If you have a question, post a comment and I will do my best to help?

3" x 3" Box
Hi all, I was asked to post the instructions for this cute little box, along with the Tea Light Boxes on my previous post. This houses perfectly the 12 Tea Light Box, but would also make an ideal box for little 3" notelet cards and envelopes, another great gift!
This also came from watching Sam from Pootles Papercraft on Youtube.
I used a 220gsm cardstock and stamped it with a Teal Momento ink using a "floral flourish" stamp from Indigo Blu. Double sided satin ribbon was used to embellish the box lid.
The measurements are as follows:-
Box Lid - from an A4 piece of cardstock - cut at 6 1/4" x 6 1/4" and score at 1 1/2" on all 4 sides.
Box Base - from an A4 piece of cardstock - cut at 7 3/16" x 7 3/16" and score at 2" on all 4 sides.
Mitre the tabs as shown by the hatching, as this will give your box corners a nice finish.
I use both a wet glue and a strong adhesive tape to hold the box. Make sure you place the tape on the right side of the box to enable you to secure the tabs to the inside of the box. Take your time lining up the edges, as this will make all the difference when you come to fit the lid and base together.
I hope you have fun making this box? Post a comment if you have any questions?
